SIDEARM Narrator

We have begun the process of testing out the SIDEARM Narrator in our conference software.

To know if you currently have the option, when in the text area of a story, a button will display in the top right that says Switch to SIDEARM Narrator. Clicking will switch the text area to the Narrator which uses panels or "blocks" to build content. Directions on how to use this are available here. For the time being, you can choose any of the seven general templates to display the content built in Narrator. The Narrator specific Feature story template will be added around the time of full release.

Our plan is to have the testing phase finished up with a full release to everyone by the end of February (next week).

Feature Pages

As part of our "Game Day Suite", Feature Pages are now available for those on the responsive platoform.

Found under promotional items, Feature Pages allow you to create a page that follows the same build structure of Game Day, but does not require you to assign it to a specific sport or game.

These pages can be used for all types of projects including a new look tournament central page, highlight your awards dinner or event a new way to present weekly awards. The page contains a few existing template options, but the real flexibility comes with the custom panels which allows you to add any type of content. You can even copy existing pages from a story or sport file into a custom panel if looking to repurpose something you have done in the past.

Changes to Time Formatting

This academic year, we made some behind the scenes changes to how we process game times, moving to the UTC format. There will be many advantages to this change moving forward, but the first impact will help our our conference sites greatly this coming year.

In an update released to conference sites on our responsive platform, when importing schedules via the Nexus, all times will be converted to the conference's site time. This eliminates the extra steps of having to adjust times or adding PT/ET to the end of every time.

Then as schedule changes occur during the course of the year, any changes pushed from a school site will automatically convert to the site's time as well.

In addition, this update will allow for a site wide am/pm format. Just submit which format you prefer to our support team and once set, all times will display that way.

The key to making this all work smoothly will be for schools to utilize the time that display with the date. This can be accessed from the date picker or the Basic Information option under Quick Load / Edit. For events without a time, you can use the TBA or All Day check boxes.

For those who do not utilize any Nexus features, you can ignore these changes as it will default to the time display field when a time value has not been site in the date field.
